Side Events to the UN Commission on the Status of Women
New York, USA: During the 58th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women at the UN headquarters in New York in March 2014, the Universal Peace Federation joined with diplomats and other NGOs in organizing two side events at the UN, one launching a campaign opposing human trafficking and the other urging the UN to consider women and the family as crucial drivers of social development. Read more...
International Autism Day Observed in Moldova
Chisinau, Moldova - UPF-Moldova joined several organizations in observing World Autism Awareness Day, April 2, through a variety of events in Chisinau raising awareness of the challenges presented by the growing numbers of children worldwide diagnosed with the disorder. First Lady Margareta Timofti spoke about the progress made during last year in raising awareness and assisting children with autism.  Read more...
